It is mainly concentrated in January-March and July-August. In addition, open-field cultivation in spring, sowing and raising seedlings in Beijing from mid-February to early March, open-field cultivation in autumn, sowing in late July to early August in places south of the Yangtze River such as Shanghai and Nanjing, and sowing in eastern Sichuan in early July. Therefore, the specific tomato planting time should be determined according to the situation in the field.

Fertilization management of tomato planting:

1. According to the fertilizer demand characteristics of tomato, under the premise of cultivating strong seedlings, tomato fertilization is based on base fertilizer, combined with 5-7 tons of high-quality organic fertilizer per mu, 6-8 kg of phosphate fertilizer and 7-10 kg of potash fertilizer.

two。 Tomato plant in 5-6 days after a "promote seedling fertilizer", nitrogen fertilizer (urea) 2-3 kg per mu.

3. When the first ear of tomato began to expand, the "fruit-promoting fertilizer" was applied with 3-4 kg of nitrogen (urea) per mu.

4. When the tomato enters the full fruit stage, when the first ear is white and the second and third ear expand rapidly, topdressing should be applied 2-3 times, each time nitrogen (urea) 3-4 kg per mu, the previous time can be mixed with 1.5-2 kg phosphorus and potassium, respectively, in order to improve fruit quality.

5. After the tomato enters the full fruit, the fertilizer absorption capacity of the root system decreases, and foliar spraying can be carried out, such as 0.3% Mel 0.5% urea, 0.5% potassium dihydrogen phosphate, 0.1% borax, etc., in order to delay senescence and increase the harvest time.

6. For tomato fertilization under protected cultivation, it is necessary to prevent the salt barrier caused by excessive fertilization. The input of organic fertilizer should be increased when fertilizing, and the amount of chemical fertilizer can be reduced by 20%, 30%, and should be applied a small amount and repeatedly, and attention should be paid to timely irrigation and salt pressure, so as to promote the growth and development of tomato.

In order to achieve high yield and high quality of tomato, it is not enough to do well fertilization management. Others, including watering, pruning, flower protection and pest control, are indispensable.
