Maintain high temperature after sowing to promote seedling emergence, usually about 3 days after sowing. The seedlings can be transplanted when they grow to 2-3 true leaves. When the seedlings grow to 4-5 leaves, pull out the weak plants and leave 1 plant in each hole. There should be not too much topdressing in the early stage, and reasonable topdressing and watering should be made according to the soil conditions and plant growth in the melon-setting period, and attention should be paid to water control in the later stage.

First, sowing and raising seedlings

It can be sowed and raised seedlings from late July to mid-August in autumn. The seeds were washed with clean water, soaked for about 4 hours, washed 2-3 times to drain the seeds, moisturized in a plastic bag, and germinated under the condition of 28-30 ℃.

The formula of seedling soil: 4 parts of paddy soil and 6 parts of mushroom residue, mixed with a small amount of compound fertilizer.

Maintain high temperature after sowing to promote seedling emergence, usually about 3 days after sowing, pay attention to ventilation and dampness after emergence.

Autumn planting due to high temperature, you can use direct seeding, can also raise seedlings and transplant, direct seeding 1-2 seeds per hole, soaking seeds in clear water for 3-4 hours before sowing.

II. Soil preparation and transplanting

The seedlings can be transplanted when they grow to 2-3 true leaves. Double-row planting, plant spacing 60-70cm, single vine pruning, transplanting 1-2 plants per hole, pouring enough fixed root water after transplanting to improve the survival rate of transplanting. Attention should be paid to water management after transplanting. If there is no rain, water should be drenched continuously for 3 days, and 0.3% compound fertilizer should be used to drench the seedlings for 1-2 times to promote the rapid growth of seedlings. The planting density can be adjusted according to the situation of remaining vines, less vines can be properly close-planted, and more vines will reduce the number of plants.

III. Field management

1. Intermediate seedlings

When the seedlings grow to 4-5 leaves, pull out the weak plants and leave 1 plant in each hole.

2. Pruning and framing

Climbing cultivation must do a good job of drainage to prevent the occurrence of rotten melons and diseases and insect pests in the later stage caused by waterlogging. Under the on-shelf cultivation mode, the vine should be introduced into the shelf in time when the vine is about 60cm. Single or double vines can be used for pruning.

3. Water and fertilizer management

Taro pumpkin is fond of water and afraid of waterlogging, developed root system and strong ability to resist drought. Do not topdressing too much in the early stage, so as not to cause excessive vegetative growth of the plant and affect the sitting melon. During the melon setting period, topdressing and watering should be reasonable according to soil conditions and plant growth conditions, especially phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. Pay attention to water control in the later stage of sitting melon. The effect of dripping water and fertilizer in rainless weather is particularly good, about once every 5 days, twice in a row, do a good job of furrow irrigation, irrigation water depth up to 1/3 of the height of the ditch, and sprinkle the border surface.

4. Artificial assisted pollination

Pumpkin mainly depends on insect pollination, flowering and melon setting period, if there are few insects in rainy days, it will affect melon, artificial pollination can improve the rate of melon setting. The specific method is in the afternoon for the female and male flowers that will open tomorrow, tie the petals with small aluminum wires to prevent Rain Water from getting wet and open flowers. The next morning, take the male flowers and remove the petals, untie the aluminum wires of the female flowers, apply the pollen on the stigmas of the female flowers, and bind the petals of the female flowers. A male flower can give 2-3 female flowers. Remove malformed melons and abnormal melons as soon as possible. After leaving the melon, hit the top at the top of 10 leaves to ensure ventilation in the field.

IV. Harvest

Taro pumpkin is mainly edible old melon, which can be picked 35 days after pollination. Fully ripe melons contain a lot of dry matter, which is conducive to storage and good quality and flavor, so they should be stored in a cool and ventilated place.
