1. Seed selection and sowing

Plum beans can be divided into white plum beans, green plum beans and purple plum beans according to their pod color, in which green plum beans are flat, crisp and tender; purple flat is similar to white plum beans, with thick pods and soft boiled meat. When sowing, combined with ploughing, 3000 kg of rotten farm manure per mu and an appropriate amount of chemical fertilizer should be used as base fertilizer, which should be mixed with the soil and raked flat to prepare the soil. Plum beans generally carry out direct seeding, adopt the method of trenching or hole sowing, control the plant spacing in 35-50 cm, row spacing in 100-130 cm, generally sow 3-4 seeds in each hole, and leave two seedlings in each hole after emergence.

2. Field management

Plum bean has strong drought tolerance, water is needed in seedling stage, water is needed in vine stage and pod-setting stage, generally, it needs to be watered 1-2 times in vine period, and once every 10 days in flowering and pod stage. After watering, it should be ploughed and weeded in time, combined with topdressing to prevent falling flowers and pods or overgrowth, less fertilizer should be applied before flowering, and fertilization should be applied again in pod setting period after flowering. The middle tillage should be shallow, and the roots should be damaged in one year. When applying fertilizer, we should pay attention to the reasonable collocation of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, and pay attention to the application amount of nitrogen fertilizer. You can set up a frame before drawing a vine, or use a rope to lead the vine on the shelf in time after drawing the vine, so that the stem vine should be evenly distributed on the hedge. When the main vine grows 1.5 meters, it can prune and pick the heart to promote multiple lateral branches and lateral branches to blossom and bear pods early.

3. Pest control

The diseases of plum beans are watered, the main pests are aphids and pod borer, aphids can be controlled with imidacloprid and acetamiprid, pay attention to the concentration when using. The pod borer eats beans with larvae and empties the whole pod in serious cases. It can be controlled by foliar spraying 2500 times of fenpropathrin or 1000 times of fenitrothion, once a week to avoid drug resistance.
