Spring corn usually ripens in late August. However, due to different climates, the maturity time will be different. For example, the northeast region generally matures from early October to late October, the southern region generally matures in early July, and Hunan generally matures in the first and middle of August.

Matters needing attention in sowing spring corn:

1. Spring sowing time

Corn seeds begin to germinate at 6-7 degrees, but the germination speed is slow, and they are extremely vulnerable to germs and pests, so they generally begin to sow when the ground temperature of 5-8 cm is 8-10 degrees. The temperature rises quickly in spring, and the best sowing time is only about 10-15 days, so sowing at the right time, sowing too late may lead to late ripening of seedlings and reduction of yield in case of low temperature. In general, the sowing time of corn is from mid-late April to mid-early May.

2. Sowing depth

When sowing, we should pay attention to the sowing depth, whether manual sowing or mechanical sowing, sowing depth is required between 3-5 cm, if the soil moisture is better, its sowing depth only needs to be 3 cm. If it is sown too deep, the seedlings will be unearthed slowly, and the seedlings will be weak due to the consumption of a lot of nutrients, so the sowing depth must be grasped.

3. Watering in time

After sowing, water should be properly watered. After watering, a large amount of water can not be stored on the surface. Too much watering can easily form stagnant water in the field, which will lead to slow emergence of seedlings and yellowing of seedlings. Serious cases will cause a large number of seedling deficiency. Therefore, watering must be appropriate, should not be watered with heavy water, and should not be watered too much at a time, so as to keep the soil moist. When seedlings do not emerge after sowing, in case of overcast and rainy weather, drainage measures should be taken to avoid stagnant water in the field.

4. Consistent sowing

Sowing should be uniform when sowing, so as not to cause inconsistent emergence of seedlings in each row, some rows are diluted, land is wasted, while others are dense, seedlings compete with each other for water and fertilizer, and the growth is weak. Therefore, sowing must be uniform and properly close planting without wasting land resources to ensure the healthy growth of seedlings.

The above is the introduction of the ripening time of spring corn. I hope it will be helpful to you.
