It is better to plant Schizonepeta tenuifolia on loose and fertile soil. Generally sowing in April, soak the seeds for 12-24 hours, and then sow them with an appropriate amount of fine sand or fine soil. Cover soil 1-2 cm after sowing, keep your feet a little firm, flatten it with iron rake, and then water it. Maintain appropriate temperature and humidity, wait for seedling emergence, and do a good job of weeding, fertilization, watering, pest control and so on.

1. Soil

Schizonepeta tenuifolia has strong adaptability and lax requirements on the soil, so it can be planted in general soil, but it grows better on loose and fertile soil. It is necessary to apply more base fertilizer, mainly compost, barnyard manure and organic fertilizer. It is necessary to prepare the land and make it into flat and high beds according to the topography.

2. Sowing seeds

Sow the seeds in April, soak the seeds in water for 12-24 hours, fish them out, air them to a ventilated and dry place, and wait until there is no water on the seed surface to mix with an appropriate amount of fine sand or fine soil to sow. After sowing, cover the soil 1-2 cm thick, stand firm with your feet, flatten it with an iron rake, and then water it. After sowing, it takes 10-15 days for seedlings to emerge when the ground temperature is 16-18 ℃. If the ground temperature is 19-25 ℃ and the humidity is suitable, the seedlings can emerge in about 1 week, and the soil should be kept moist before and after emergence.

3. Ploughing and weeding

When the seedling height is 6-10 cm, the weak seedlings and seedlings are too dense, and the seedlings are fixed when the seedling height is 10-15 cm. When the seedling height is about 5 cm, loosen the soil with a small hoe; after entering the long period of life, it should be carried out once in 20 days, or properly ploughed 1-2 times, and stop loosening the soil after closing the row.

4. Fertilization

When the seedling height is 15-20 cm, some chemical fertilizers are sprinkled forward, urea 10-15 kg per mu and cake fertilizer 25-40 kg per mu; when the seedling height is 20-25 cm, 10 kg potassium chloride is added; when the seedling height is more than 30 cm, 60 kg of rotten cake fertilizer is applied per mu, and a small amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer can be applied.

5. Watering

The seedling stage should be watered frequently to facilitate growth; the drought resistance of the adult plant should be enhanced, but it can no longer be irrigated, but there is no rain in summer, the soil water content is less than 8%, and the plant should be watered lightly when the plant is wilting, and the amount of water each time should not be too large.

6. Diseases and insect pests

The main diseases are root rot, blight, stem blight, black spot, etc., pests include land tiger, mole cricket, Spodoptera litura and so on, which should be controlled in time.
