Last Updated: 2024/09/19, Eggplant seedlings are high-temperature-loving plants that cannot survive a few degrees below zero. Generally speaking, the suitable temperature for seed germination is 25-30 degrees, and the development period of seedlings is 25-30 degrees during the day and 15-20 degrees at night. If the temperature is less than 15 degrees, the eggplant seedlings will grow slowly, and the eggplant seedlings will not survive below 0 degrees.

When growing eggplant, the following management should be done:

Planting management of eggplant seedlings:

1. Sowing and raising seedlings

Eggplant is generally planted in December in early spring, planted in late February of the following year, and harvested at the end of April. Planting in autumn, sowing and raising seedlings in May, planting in June, harvesting from August to September. The growth temperature should be ensured after sowing, and the suitable temperature can be raised appropriately when the first true leaf is grown, and it can be transplanted after the seedling is completed.

two。 Transplanting and planting

Eggplant seedlings must be fully watered before transplanting, and then according to the growth of the seedlings, appropriate water should be added to meet the growth requirements. The seedlings should be planted on pre-arranged plots with a spacing of 30-40 cm and the planting depth should be equal to that of the nursery and the surface.

3. Field management

In the slow seedling stage of eggplant, attention should be paid to regulating the balance between vegetative growth and reproductive growth, and controlling light and temperature. After the eggplant is planted with slow seedling water, it will not be watered until it is in full bloom. Until the eggplant generally grows to the size of 3 cm, and then watered and fertilized, the amount of fertilizer applied for the first time can be greater. When the eggplant begins to expand, give the second fertilizer water, 10-15 days later, pour fertilizer and water once, as a result, there can be no shortage of water and fertilizer in the middle and later stages. It is also necessary to prune in time to improve ventilation and light transmission conditions. after the door eggplant is enlarged, the sprouting lateral branches and the lower old leaves under the door eggplant should be removed, and the axillary buds under the second fruit (to eggplant) should also be wiped off.

In the process of eggplant planting, common diseases and insect pests include quenching disease, brown stripe, Fusarium wilt, aphids, mites, thrips and so on. Plants that have already had diseases should be sprayed or destroyed in time so as not to cause large-scale disease infection.
