In the early years, farmers used straw as firewood or to feed livestock, but now the living conditions of many farmers have been improved, cooking and water all use electricity or liquefied gas, fewer livestock such as cattle and sheep are raised, and the original "baby" has become an encumbrance. The simplest way is to burn it, which is all too common in Qingyuan.

As the smoke of straw burning contains a large number of pollutants and particles such as PM2.5 and PM10, resulting in a significant decline in air quality, local governments have been advocating the prohibition of straw incineration. Even so, it is blocked in the suburbs around the city, but the counties under their jurisdiction have "raised their heads", and air pollution may "affect the fish in the pond." if only the urban areas ban the burning of straw, it will only be the result of "naturally merging eggs".

Returning straw to the field is a practice advocated by the state in recent years, but in reality, ordinary people do not buy it. For example, Suqian City in Jiangsu Province has recorded the zero fire point of national satellite remote sensing monitoring for two consecutive years, and their main method is to return straw to the field, and after field investigation, farmers generally report that there seem to be more and more insects in the field after returning to the field. Corn is not bitten for long, and straw also prevents corn seeds from taking root, and many seedlings do not grow tall. The reason is that our country is still lack of suitable crushing machinery, straw crushing fineness is not enough can not be degraded in time, which brings a variety of harm, specific to Qingyuan, few farmers are willing to spend a sum of money to deal with straw which is regarded as chicken ribs.

The author believes that if we only prohibit the burning of straw blindly, it is difficult to achieve the goal. Might as well put aside the resentment and anxiety about straw burning for the time being and return to common sense. Straw is torched because there is no better way to dispose of it. On the contrary, government departments must sincerely and patiently find more efficient transformation ways and more reasonable places for straw. This is now more and more attention to the comprehensive utilization of straw, there have been useful attempts in many places, and more efforts are needed.

From this point of view, it is not advisable to rely solely on the "prohibition" medicine to cure the stubborn disease of "straw burning". What is more important is to relieve the disease. For example, to cultivate and support leading straw utilization enterprises to achieve straw biomass energy conversion, the government arranges special funds to guide society and enterprises to raise their own funds, it is used for the research and development of straw collection, storage and transportation technology and equipment, facility purchase, system construction and demonstration site project construction, and formulate subsidy policies for straw collection, transportation, utilization and so on. Once the way out of the straw is cleared, it is natural for the burning phenomenon to disappear.
