What to pay attention to during the flowering period of strawberries
The flowering stage of strawberry is an important stage, which is related to the quality of the fruit and needs our careful care. So what do strawberries need to pay attention to during flowering?
What to pay attention to during the flowering period of strawberries
1. The temperature in the greenhouse should be controlled when strawberries bloom, keeping it between 15-28 ℃ during the day and 8-12 ℃ at night, not less than 5 ℃. During this period, the field capacity requirement is about 80%, and the exposure to sunlight is at least about 12 hours.
2. The air humidity in the shed should be kept at about 50%. Too much or too little humidity will affect the quality of pollination, and then affect the flowering and fruit setting of strawberries. Strawberry auxiliary pollination includes artificial pollination, chemical hormone and bee pollination.
3. Strawberries should be replenished with enough nutrients when they are about to blossom. Some urea and compound fertilizer can be used together with watering. While keeping the soil moist, let the plant absorb nutrients better, and spray some foliar fertilizer on the leaf surface that can help the fruit stem grow.
4. Remove some stolons and old leaves to reduce unnecessary nutrient consumption. This can improve photosynthetic efficiency, reduce the occurrence of diseases and insect pests, and increase yield. Leave some stolons with good growth momentum to meet the needs of reproduction. The specific situation should be determined according to the actual growth situation.
5. Thinning flowers should be carried out at flowering stage. Under normal circumstances, the flowers that bloom on the inflorescence cannot bear fruit and belong to ineffective flowers. Each plant retains only 2-3 robust inflorescences to increase the number of fruits, promote maturity, concentrate the harvest period, and prevent premature senescence of the plant.
6. The main diseases of strawberry in flowering stage are gray mold, powdery mildew and so on. Can be used Cuize, Jianda, green concubine and other agents for spraying. The main pests are thrips, aphids, red spiders and so on. Use appropriate pesticides for prevention and control.
The flowering period of strawberries must be managed scientifically and the maintenance work must be done in order to produce big, red and delicious strawberries.
