Tulip, also known as lotus, grass musk, is a very beautiful flower, is the world's fashion and international symbol. Tulips are mainly white, red, yellow and pink, whether planted in the balcony or flower beds or as cut flowers are a good choice. So how to grow potted tulips? How long is the florescence?

How to raise potted tulips?

1. Selection of varieties

Genotypic dwarfing varieties with compact leaves, dense leaves and short stems or wild tulip varieties are more suitable for potted tulips, so they are more ornamental and more beautiful indoors. In the selection of potted tulip bulbs, try to choose the bulbs with high quality and large specifications. Because the seed ball will affect the germination rate, if a seed ball does not germinate, it will affect the cultivation effect of the whole pot, so it will be defective.

2. Temperature control

Tulips belong to sunny plants, so when planting, you should pay attention to the sunny leeward, so potted tulips are generally suitable to be placed in sunny rooms. The temperature conditions during the growing period and flowering period of tulips are very important. If the temperature can be kept between 15 ℃ and 20 ℃, the growth is better. The dormant period in summer is between 20 ℃ and 25 mol, and when the winter temperature is relatively low, it is best not to be less than 5 Mel below zero. So if we want tulips to bloom longer, we can plant them in a cool and low humidity environment.

3. Soil selection.

Tulips do not have very high requirements for soil, and the soil with good air permeability and good drainage is more suitable for planting tulips. The soil can choose neutral soil, such as peat, mature soil and sand mixed evenly, the use of such soil can make tulips grow more luxuriantly.

4. Lighting requirements

Tulip is a sunny plant, its growth needs sufficient light, and if the light is not enough, there may be poor growth, falling leaves and buds, the color of the flowers will be very dim, and the flowering period will be shortened. But the tulips need to be properly shaded in the second half of the month when they are transplanted into the basin.

5. Watering key points

The daily maintenance of tulips should be properly watered according to specific conditions, and a little water should be watered every day, neither too much nor too little. Too much water can easily lead to stagnant water and rotten roots, and too little water will lead to yellowing or wilting of plant leaves. So the amount of water should be determined according to the growth of potted tulips.

6. Key points of fertilization

In the rapid growth period of tulips, more nutritious fertilizers should be applied so that potted tulips can grow well and blossom as scheduled. Therefore, in the usual maintenance of potted tulips, fertilization should master certain skills, try to apply thin fertilizer, fertilize frequently. If you fertilize too much or too many times, the root may burn, so the whole tulip plant will be affected. Too little fertilizer may lead to plant malnutrition.

Second, how long is the flowering period of potted tulips?

Potted tulips bloom from March to April every year, and the flowering period is about three to five months. The natural growth of tulips blooms from November to March of the following year, and blossoms are in full bloom around the Spring Festival. The approximate time from flowering to falling flowers is about a week. Of course, there is plenty of sunshine and suitable temperature, and adequate watering and fertilization can prolong its flowering period.
