Tiger ginger is generally planted by seed sowing and underground rhizome planting. Among them, the seeds matured in August of the first year should be selected for seed sowing, and the seeds should be sown in late March of the following year, while rhizome planting should be carried out around late autumn or early spring late March. During the planting period, there are the following points to pay attention to:

1. Pest control

Black spot is the main disease of tiger ginger, which harms the leaves. At the initial stage of the disease, irregular yellow-brown spots appear from the leaf tip, and then the disease spots spread downward, especially in the rainy season. The leaves of the diseased part are withered and yellow. Food in the rainy season should be timely drainage, to avoid stagnant water affecting the plant, should cause diseases. It can also be sprayed with 1 ∶ 1 ∶ Bordeaux or 50% acetaminophen 1000 times before and at the initial stage of the disease, once every 7-10 days, several times in a row.

two。 Fertilizer application

Topdressing combined with weeding and intermediate ploughing, the first fertilization was carried out after the first weeding, and then every January-2 months. 1000-1500kg mu of high quality fertilizer for human and livestock was applied each time. Every year before winter, high quality farm manure 1200-1500kg was added, and superphosphate 50kg and cake fertilizer 50kg were mixed. After mixing evenly, ditch application, and then watering, accelerate the formation and growth of roots. However, attention should be paid to the dosage and concentration when fertilizing, so as not to burn the roots.

3. Pick out the flowers

The flowering and fruiting period of tiger ginger lasts for a long time, and there are many umbels and fruits in the axils of each stem and branch, which consumes a lot of nutrients and affects the growth of rhizomes. Therefore, the flower buds should be picked in time before bud formation. In order to promote the concentrated transfer of nutrients to the rhizome of the harvest, the yield was increased.

Tiger ginger is generally stabbed in spring and autumn, and the quality of autumn harvest is the best. Therefore, in the autumn after 3-4 years of cultivation, tiger ginger can be harvested and processed.
