Chestnut tree is planted in Shandong, Anhui, Jiangsu, Hebei, Henan and other places. It is a deciduous tree. It can be planted as an economic fruit tree or as a landscape tree. What is its planting method?

The planting method of Chestnut Tree

1. Build a garden and prepare land

Chestnut likes light, so it is most suitable to be planted in Xiangyang block. the soil requires neutral and acidic sandy loam, which is the best in gneiss mountain area. It is not suitable to build a garden in places where the soil is too sticky and low-lying and prone to waterlogging. Dig a big hole before planting, it is best to dig a strip of trench. On the slope below 25 °, it is best to prepare the land with an excavator, dig into a platform 4m wide according to the horizontal line, and plant 2 rows. Steep slopes first repair terraces and do a good job in soil and water conservation.

two。 Planting

It is planted from March to early April in spring, or from late October to early November in autumn. The planting method of "three burial, two steps, and one seedling" is adopted when planting. Dry in time after planting, the dry height is generally 80-100cm. The distance between rows is 3m × 4m. In addition, the suitable number of chestnut orchard is 3040 plants per mu in plain and 4060 plants per mu in mountainous area. It is planned that the dense planting chestnut orchard can plant 60,111 trees per mu, and then thinning will be carried out step by step.

3. Water and fertilizer

After the soil was thawed from the middle of March to the first ten days of April, the potassium sulfate compound fertilizer was applied to about 250-500g/ plants, and the deep pit of 20cm was dug near the drip line of the tree top, about 50-100g per hole. It can be watered properly during the drought period, and drainage should be carried out in time in the rainy season.

4. Pruning

Chestnut tree pruning is divided into winter and summer pruning. Winter pruning is carried out from defoliation to the following spring germination. Summer pruning mainly refers to sprouting, coring, male removal and branch thinning in the growing season, and different pruning is selected according to different conditions.

In addition, the common diseases and insect pests of chestnut trees include powdery mildew, chestnut rust, dry blight and so on.
