Alternanthera philoxeroides is one of the top ten malignant weeds in the world, and also one of the alien invasive species that China focuses on prevention and control. After long-term exploration, Jiangsu Province Academy of Agricultural Sciences has initially formed a cooperative grass control technology system of Alternaria fungi and herbicides. In Jiangyan District and Xinghua City, demonstration areas for prevention and control of water peanut have been established. The comprehensive control effect of demonstration areas reaches more than 85%, the herbicide dosage is reduced by 20-30%, and the cost is saved by 20%. Agricultural environmental protection station of Jiangsu Province uses biological natural enemy--water peanut special feeding natural enemy water peanut leaf beetle to carry out prevention and control, the control effect of water peanut can reach 80% in that year, and stable control effect can be realized in 2-3 years.
This activity demonstrated the integrated prevention and control technology and biological prevention and control methods, using small plant protection aircraft to spray special chemicals in areas where the spread of water peanut is serious. At the same time, high-powered mechanical salvage boats are used to salvage densely distributed areas, realizing all automation of gathering, salvage, water filtration, unloading and other work, simple operation, efficiency is 10 times higher than manual operation, and the salvaged water peanuts are fermented and composted on the spot to realize harmless treatment.
Nearly 200 people from agricultural environmental protection departments and experts from agricultural scientific research institutes in seriously endangered areas observed the elimination activities.
