Poverty alleviation should be supported by real poverty

Poverty alleviation is really poor without help, which is incompatible with the Party's poverty alleviation policy. We must not let poverty alleviation go in the wrong direction and help the wrong object.

70 million is a big mountain. This "70 million mountain" must be climbed. By the end of last year, China still had 70.17 million people living in poverty under the current standards, and all of them must be lifted out of poverty by 2020.

When the whole country is making concerted efforts to climb this "70 million Mountain" courageously, when some places identify poor households, they do not aim at real poverty, and even "non-poverty" has become the object of poverty alleviation.

The mistargeting of poverty alleviation targets is an injustice to the poor people who are really in need of help. During the investigation in Zhaotong, Yunnan Province, which is located in the poverty-stricken area of Wumeng Mountain, the author found that there was only a lonely old man in the poorest family in the village. the straw on the roof had rotted, and the house was dark. All the belongings were broken beds made of straw in one corner of the wall, and sprouted potato and corn were piled in the other corner of the wall, which was the whole rations of the old man for a year. Although this phenomenon of absolute poverty is already very rare in the country, if poverty alleviation does not help such elderly people and help the "non-poor", I am afraid the common people will not agree.

The inaccurate target of poverty alleviation is an infringement on the efficiency of poverty alleviation policies. The CPC Central Committee and the State Council attach great importance to poverty alleviation and have issued a series of poverty alleviation policies. Since the reform and opening up, China has reduced poverty by 660 million people, creating a miracle of overcoming poverty in human history. The high efficiency of poverty alleviation has become the main theme of China's anti-poverty heroic epic. The historical experience of poverty alleviation has proved again and again that accurate identification of poor households is the guarantee for the success of poverty alleviation. If the target of poverty alleviation is lost, the efficiency of poverty alleviation will be impaired and the achievement of the expected poverty reduction goal will be delayed.

The target of poverty alleviation is not accurate, which highlights the importance of the transformation of poverty alleviation work and the urgency of mechanism reform. The more stringent the requirements, the more problems can be found. While great achievements have been made in poverty alleviation, it is hard to hide some deficiencies in the way of poverty alleviation work. The effect of "boiling in one pot" and "flooding" in poverty alleviation is of course, but the efficiency of poverty alleviation is much worse. If we do not target the poor, poverty alleviation policies and resources will be wasted. The accurate identification of poverty alleviation objects is the foundation of poverty alleviation work and the basis of accurate poverty alleviation. Therefore, innovating and reforming the poverty alleviation mechanism has become an inevitable requirement to stimulate the endogenous power of poverty alleviation in the new era.

To help the poor means to do everything possible to overcome poverty and get rid of poverty. Now, we have a clear poverty line for measuring the poor. It should be said that poverty alleviation does not help poverty, which is incompatible with the Party's poverty alleviation policy. We must not let poverty alleviation go in the wrong direction and help the wrong object.

Only by finding the "poor root" can we prescribe the right medicine and target treatment. General Secretary Xi stressed the "six precision", that is, accurate support targets, accurate project arrangements, accurate use of funds, accurate measures to households, accurate village personnel, accurate results in poverty alleviation, and ensuring that the benefits of various policies fall on the target of poverty alleviation, it is the sacred mission of every poverty alleviation worker.

If we identify accurately, we will not mistake "non-poverty" for real poverty; if we identify accurately, we can implement policies according to people, places, poverty, and types of poverty. By 2020, all the poor people will be lifted out of poverty as scheduled, and this "70 million mountain" will be doomed to be crossed.
