There are many people who like to eat cherries, but few people know that cherries need to be grafted. Ungrafted cherry fruits are small and sour, so what is the method of cherry grafting?

First, the method of cherry grafting

1. Plate budding method

Select the well-developed buds except the label buds and autumn shoot buds as scion buds, and then use rootstocks with a thickness of more than 1 cm for grafting.

Cut under 1.5 cm of the bud when receiving the bud, and the cut bud is an oval bud with a thickness of about 2 cm and a length of about 2.5 cm.

Then grafted in the rootstock 1 cm off the ground, but also need to select smooth parts for grafting.

Gently peel off a layer of skin along the vertical red direction to form a long oval surface about 25 cm long and 1-2 mm deep, then stick the bud on the cutting surface of the rootstock and fasten it with plastic film tape.

2. Budding method

The method of bud grafting needs to choose larger bud pieces to do bud grafting, which can improve the survival rate.

After selecting good buds and rootstock seedlings, you can carry out grafting, cut a knife near the ground in the rootstock seedlings, about 1 cm long, then insert the buds and tie them up, wrap them with polyethylene film strips, and generally heal in half a month.

II. Points for attention in grafting

1. Cherry grafting should pay attention to the grafting time, and generally choose to be grafted from June to August, depending on the local climate.

2. Remember to untie the grafting in time to prevent Rain Water from flowing into the cortex after the rain.

If it is the first time to graft cherries, it is best to find someone with grafting experience to help, so that the survival rate will be higher.
