1. Soil preparation and fertilization

Choose deep soil layer, fertile soil, water and fertilizer better soil to plant taro. Deep ploughing 35-40 cm before sowing to facilitate deep root penetration. After ploughing, it must be leveled and raked fine. After the land is finished, ridge is made, and the row spacing, width and depth of the ditch are set according to the situation. Then carry on the fertilization in the ditch, farm manure or compost, potassium sulfate compound fertilizer, ammonium bicarbonate, etc.

2. Planting seed taro

Select intact, disease-free seed taro, spread for 3-4 days, densely arrange indoors, cover with 8-10 cm thick wet sand for germination, and keep the room temperature at 20-25℃. When the seed taro bud grows to 3-4 cm, the ground temperature of 5 cm is stable at 10℃, and the density is reasonable. 4,500 - 5,000 plants per mu. Spraying can be done properly.

3. Water and fertilizer management

Do not water before emergence, keep the soil moist in the middle and late stages, and pay attention to drainage in rainy season. 80 days after emergence, combined with watering, punching and fertilizing beside the plants, and applying diammonium phosphate per mu to promote the expansion of colo. The soil should not be too dry and wet, too dry easy yellow leaves, dead leaves, water root development is not smooth. Pay attention to drainage in rainy season.

4. Cultivation

During the seedling stage of colocasia esculenta, combined with topdressing, intertillage should be carried out to eliminate weeds and warm the ground. When the seedlings are finished, intertillage should be carried out to make the cultivation ditch flat. After that, the soil should be cultivated once every 20 days, with a thickness of 7 cm, twice in total. The purpose of cultivating soil is to inhibit the germination and growth of terminal buds of seed taro and grandson taro, reduce nutrient consumption, make hairy taro fully expand and produce a large number of adventitious roots, and increase the drought resistance of plants.
