When will safflower be picked?

Spring sowing safflower is usually picked after the small office, and autumn sowing safflower is usually picked before and after the Beginning of Summer, about half a month after picking. When picking, try to harvest it on the third morning after the safflower buds bloom, and the time for picking flowers should be 9-10:00 after the dew dries in the morning on a sunny day. Should not be too early or too late, so as not to affect the quality after drying.

Second, how to pick safflower?

During harvest, with the thumb, index finger, middle finger and ring finger of one hand, gently pinch the lower part of the inflorescence at the top of the bud, turn slightly to one side and lift it up, and the inflorescence is easily picked off. Each batch of picking to "only pick inflorescence from yellow to red" as the standard, so that the inflorescence yellow does not turn red, inverted (hidden) in the following buds do not miss. Each bud generally sends out three batches of inflorescence, the first batch accounts for 60% of the total yield, and the second and third batches each account for 20%. The interval between each batch is 3-5 days, so the safflower shows inflorescence from the beginning to the end of flowering, usually 15-20 days. After the inflorescence of safflower blossoms, it immediately enters the stage of seed filling and maturity (when foliar fertilizer is sprayed outside the roots, the yield of safflower seeds can be increased by 20%). When most of the leaves of safflower turn yellow and wilt, the safflower seeds can be harvested. For those planted in a small area, the whole plant can be cut off with a sickle, dried and threshed (not rolled); for those planted in a large area, it is best to use a combine harvester to harvest wheat, which can be harvested after appropriate adjustment. In this way, the harvested safflower seeds are clean, non-broken, non-mildew, good quality, high efficiency, dry and clean, and can be sold.

Generally speaking, safflower had better be picked between 9-10:00 on the third day after bud opening, and finished within half a month when picking, so as not to affect the quality after drying.
