Watermelon is a common fruit in our country, which is planted in most areas of our country. At present, many watermelons are planted by grafting. What are the planting techniques of grafted watermelon?

1. Plug-in method

The main results are as follows: (1) the grafting time is better during the unfolding period of the first true leaf of the rootstock, the rootstock can be grafted 6-8 days after emergence, and the grafting time can last 8-10 days. When grafted too late, the hypocotyls of cotyledons became hollow, which affected the survival rate.

(2) grafting method: prepare a bamboo stick before grafting, the thickness is the same or slightly thick as the watermelon seedling, and the front end is cut into a wedge-shaped surface. When grafting, the growing point of the rootstock seedling is removed, and then the tip of the bamboo stick is obliquely inserted down 1 cm from the growing point in the direction parallel to the cotyledons, so that the tip of the bamboo stick just reveals the rootstock. Then take the scion and cut it into a wedge-shaped surface 1 cm below the cotyledon, about 1 cm long, pull out the bamboo stick, cut the scion into the hole, the tip of the rootstock exposed, pay attention to the scion not inserted into the stem hollow.

2. Leaning connection method

The method of relying on grafting is to pull out the scion from the seedling plate, cut 1 cm from top to bottom with an external blade under 1 cm of the seedling leaves of the rootstock, the depth of the incision reaches 2 cm of the diameter of the Hypocotyl of the rootstock, and the scion is obliquely cut about 1 cm from the bottom to the top of the cotyledons, and then the two are tongue-shaped, bound with plastic sheets or clamped with grafting, and then dig a small hole in the nutrition bowl of the rootstock and bury the scion in the soil to water it.

The grafting cultivation of watermelon can choose gourd as rootstock, sow rootstock and scion at the same time, or sow watermelon a few days in advance, and cucurbit should be sowed about 5 days in advance.

Generally speaking, watermelon can be grafted by cutting and grafting, but the cutting method is relatively simple, with fast healing and high survival rate, so it is used more in daily life.
