Peppermint is born at 2100 meters above sea level, but it can also grow at 3500 meters above sea level. The main areas of growing peppermint in China are Anhui and Jiangsu.

1. Lighting

Mint is a kind of light-loving plant, so we should pay attention to give enough light to the potted mint. It is best to place it in a room with enough scattered sunlight to avoid direct sunlight.

Sufficient light is conducive to the accumulation of peppermint oil, menthol, but also promote the flowering of mint, peppermint will grow better.

2. Soil

Peppermint does not have too many requirements for planting soil, ordinary planting soil, garden soil, forest soil can grow mint. But the soil which is too sticky and easy to accumulate water is not suitable for planting. Choosing the sandy gravel soil with good drainage is more conducive to the growth of peppermint.

Therefore, we should also choose containers with drainage holes on the planting containers, which can prevent the accumulation of water in the soil and prevent the roots of mint from being retted.

3. Watering

Peppermint growth needs more water, need to keep the soil moist, so usually need more watering, but also do not need too much watering, summer 1-2 times a day, winter can appropriately reduce the number of watering.

4. Ambient temperature

The most suitable growth temperature of mint is 25-30 ℃. Potted mint can be planted indoors when the outdoor temperature is too high or low.

1. when it is hot in summer, do not water at noon when the temperature is relatively high, as it is easy to damage the plant.

2. Peppermint is easy to get black shank at the seedling stage, which makes the stem soft and black, which can be treated with 70% chlorothalonil or 40% carbendazim spray vaccine.
