Information from the Ministry of Agriculture shows that medium rice (single cropping rice) has been harvested at present.

Xinhua Beijing, October 28 (Reporter Wang Yu) Ministry of Agriculture dispatching information shows that so far, the national autumn grain harvest has exceeded 83%, the progress is 4.5% slower than the same period last year.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, medium rice (first cropping rice) has now received 82.7 percent, 2.3 percentage points slower than the same period last year; corn has received 90.1 percent, 6.7 percentage points slower than the same period last year; and soybeans have received 93.4 percent, 3.8 percentage points slower than the same period last year.

It is reported that the slow harvest progress is mainly due to the postponement of frost period, fine weather and late harvest in Northeast China this year. Double-cropping late rice has harvested 30.6 percent, 2.5 percentage points slower than the same period last year, mainly due to the postponement of the growth period of some late rice in the Yangtze River basin by about a week due to continuous rain in July and August.

As of October 26, 75.0% of winter wheat had been sown nationwide, the progress was the same as the same period last year; 68.0% of winter rape had been sown nationwide, 2.7 percentage points slower than the same period last year.
