During the Dragon Boat Festival, we all have the habit of wrapping zongzi. We all know that zongzi is made of glutinous rice wrapped with leaves, and then all kinds of dates, pork, egg yolks and other foods are added. In general, there are people who sell zongzi leaves on the market. A friend asked, what is the difference between Ruo leaves and zongye? How to plant it?

What's the difference between Ruo leaves and zongye?

Zongye is a unified name. Generally speaking, the leaves that wrap zongzi are called zongye. Ruo leaves are generally used in the south and Reed leaves in the north. Of course, there are some rare ones, such as corn leaves, lotus leaves and so on, which can be used as zongzi leaves. Therefore, it cannot be said that there is any difference between the two, but a kind of subordinate relationship.

The difference between zongye and asparagus leaves is mainly in the appearance. First of all, the front end of the Reed leaf is more pointed than the Ruo leaf, and the tail of the Reed leaf is inward sunken semicircle, while the Ruo leaf has a leaf stalk. Relatively speaking, the edges of Reed leaves are sharper, especially uncooked Reed leaves, which are easy to cut the skin. Ruo leaves are relatively less sharp. Both Reed leaves and Ruo leaves must be fully boiled in water before wrapping zongzi in order to be more hygienic and delicious.

Second, the main points of planting Ruo leaves

Ruo bamboo mainly grows in shady places, and can be planted next to some vegetable gardens and hillsides in our southern region. In spring every year, as long as you go to the place where you grow Ruo bamboo, use a hoe to dig up some small Ruo bamboos, retain the roots, and then transplant them. It is best to choose overcast and rainy weather, so that the survival rate is higher.

Ruo bamboo has strong adaptability, but it is suitable for slightly acidic sandy soil with loose, fertile, good drainage and good permeability. If it is used for potted plants, you can choose the proportion of garden soil, perlite and ceramsite to mix at 2:2:1. During this period, you can add some rotten leaf soil to increase the fertilizer effect, and water once after the pot, thoroughly.

If it is planted in the vegetable garden and hillside and other places is relatively simple, only need to transplant some small Ruo bamboo. Ruo bamboo, like other bamboos, will sprout from the bamboo whip at the root every year, and eventually become Ruo bamboo. Generally speaking, in a year or two, Ruo bamboo gradually spread and soon became a large area of growth. if it is a family potted plant, it is necessary to strictly control the germination and growth of Ruo bamboo.

Ruo bamboo prefers a shady and humid environment, so it should not be exposed to the sun when potted, but it should be planted in a cool place when planting in rural areas.

At present, the market demand for Ruo bamboo is relatively large, and every year around the Dragon Boat Festival, many people will come to the countryside to buy Ruo leaves, and the purchase price also ranges from 2 yuan to 6 yuan per jin. Therefore, for many rural areas, if you plant Ruo bamboo can also get a certain profit. If bamboo planting is relatively simple, as long as the environmental conditions are suitable, its growth rate is also very fast.

And in the usual fertilization, we should follow the principle of "light fertilizer is applied frequently, less and more times, and nutrition is complete". Watering should be carried out by "dry and thoroughly dry, not dry and thoroughly watered".
