Cyclamen is also known as radish and begonia, rabbit flower, its flower shape is very unique, like many hearts, but also like human kidneys. Cyclamen flowers and colors are very gorgeous, especially suitable for pot maintenance in indoor, the planting method is not very difficult, we can try to raise a pot. Is cyclamen poisonous? Why does it not blossom?

Is cyclamen poisonous?

Cyclamen is toxic, its toxicity mainly exists in the rhizome part of the plant, which contains toxic alkaloids, other flowers and fragrances are non-toxic.

If you accidentally eat its roots, there will be dizziness, vomiting, diarrhea and other symptoms, but also can not make too much contact with the skin, otherwise it will lead to skin allergies, redness and swelling, itching and rash. If this symptom occurs in the process of breeding, you must see a doctor in time.

It should also be noted that if there are children or animals at home, it is not suitable to raise cyclamen at home to avoid poisoning after accidental ingestion.

Second, why cyclamen does not blossom?

1. Too much watering

Cyclamen is very afraid of the environment where there is too much water. if there is too much water, there will be rotten roots and yellow leaves, which will naturally affect flowering.

The solution is very simple: control the amount you need when watering it. Generally, you can wait until the leaves begin to wilt before watering, and when watering, you can not pour water directly on the leaves, but choose to soak the basin; you can also use drip irrigation to water flowers.

2. Insufficient humidity

Too little humidity in the air will prevent cyclamen from getting enough water, affecting the growth of the plant. The solution is to appropriately increase the humidity in the air, usually at 60% to 80%, which will make it grow more vigorously and bloom longer.

3. Lack of light

Although cyclamen can tolerate the semi-overcast environment slightly, if you stay in a place with weak light all the time, it will affect the growth of the plant, resulting in the loss of leaves, the yellowing of leaves, and the fall of buds, thus affecting the efficiency of flowering.

Therefore, in normal maintenance, we should put it in a place with plenty of light, and often move the direction of the flowerpot to prevent the crazy growth of flowers on one side and not long on the other.

4. Lack of phosphate fertilizer

If when raising cyclamen, the light time is not too long, but the flowers are not only light, but also small, this situation is due to the lack of phosphate fertilizer, cyclamen flowering is very long, from October to April of the following year, and many flower friends basically do not have the habit of fertilizing when growing flowers. Or it is found that the flowers are not normal before thinking of fertilization, so it is not good to raise flowers.
