Torreya grandis, also known as Chinese Torreya grandis, Torreya grandis, Torreya grandis and Cunninghamia lanceolata, is a rare economic tree species native to China. Planted in yellow soil, red soil and yellow cinnamon soil, the following is about the cultivation techniques of Torreya grandis.

What are the cultivation techniques of Torreya grandis?

1. Variety selection

There are many varieties of Torreya grandis, and almost every producing area of Torreya grandis has local native varieties, so when selecting Torreya grandis varieties, we must follow the principle of "suitable trees and suitable varieties" and try our best to select local local varieties for cultivation.

two。 Raising seedlings

Sowing: remove the seed coat after harvest, then store the seeds in sand, and then sow the seeds until the germination rate reaches more than 90%. Before sowing, we should apply sufficient basic fertilizer, mainly farm manure. The row spacing of the sown plant is 15cm × 30cm, the radicle of the seed is placed horizontally downward, and the soil is covered shallowly (about 3 times the transverse diameter of the seed), covered with straw to keep the bed loose and moist.

Grafting: grafting should be carried out in the middle and last ten days of March, either cutting or split grafting can be used for afforestation when 2-5-year seedlings are cultivated after grafting, when the seedlings are above 50cm.

3. Planting

Hills or low mountains with an altitude below 700m, a slope of 5-15 °, loose, deep and fertile soil (more than 80cm and humus 20cm), good drainage, gravel content less than 20.0%, sufficient water and convenient transportation are selected as planting sites. The initial planting density was 33 plants / 667m2 and the row spacing was 4m × 5m.

4. Administration and Management

Water and fertilizer: organic fertilizer can be applied once every spring from January to February, with farm manure as the best, and the fertilizer can be buried in the root; drip irrigation system can be built where possible.

Pruning: control the height and crown width of the tree, control the height of the crown at 4-5m, and keep the crown width more dry. After setting, you can trim the dense and diseased branches regularly every year.

Termites, Torreya grandis small roll moth, rust cochlea and so on are all pests that harm the growth of Torreya grandis. We must prevent them in advance and spray good medicament.
