4. Pruning: seven to ten days after planting, when the pumpkin seed vine grows to about 30cm, leave two strong seed vines and cut off the rest of the seed vines. Note that the two remaining vines should be arranged in the same direction to avoid overlap.

5. Pollination and fruit setting: generally speaking, it is best to make two vines set fruit at the same time. Male and female pumpkin flowers usually blossom at four o'clock in the morning on a sunny morning, and it is not easy to fertilize after nine o'clock. When cultivating in open field, if you encounter cloudy and rainy weather, you can bag the Corolla of female flowers that will blossom in the morning of the day before.

6. Fertilizer and water management: pumpkin has a strong ability to absorb fertilizer, but in the early stage, base fertilizer should not be applied too much, especially nitrogen fertilizer, otherwise it will affect fruit setting. Topdressing is generally carried out in two stages, the first after the beginning of pruning and the second after fruit setting.

7. Harvest: at the harvest time, if you pick tender melons, they will be harvested within 10 to 15 days after flowering, and within 40 days after flowering.
