Now there are many people in the market who like to dish walnuts, and the market value of walnuts is constantly increasing. So do you know how to grow walnuts? Let's have a look!

How to grow walnuts

First, sowing seeds

In the middle of March, the seeds were soaked in cold water for 3 days, then mixed with wet sand and piled in the sunny place. High 30-35cm, covered with l0cm thick wet sand, sprinkled once a day to keep moist, covered with straw curtain or film for moisturizing and heat preservation at night, 10 Mel 15 days fruit shell cracking, dew white can be sown. Select once a day, sow in batches and sow in sufficient moisture when sowing. First, trench was opened according to row spacing 40-50cm, plant spacing was sowed according to 15-20cm, and the two sutures were parallel to the ground when sowing, and the appropriate depth was 3-5cm above the ground. After covering the soil, the soil was compacted to preserve soil moisture.

2. Grafting

Grafting was carried out from late March to early April. Firstly, the scion was collected. In the middle of March, when the bud was about to germinate, the one-year-old branches with strong growth and free of diseases and insect pests were collected as scions, and the varieties were stored in wet sand after harvest, and the buds of walnut rootstocks began to be grafted in early April. Within 12 hours before grafting, the xylem must be cut to "release water" at the root, then split or skin grafting, then fasten the wound with plastic strip, and the upper end of the scion should be smeared with paint to prevent water evaporation. After survival, sprouting and loosening should be removed in time, and the loosening time should be carried out when the new growth is above 20cm. When the grafted seedlings grow to about 40cm, they should be fixed with small bamboo poles or wooden sticks to prevent wind break.

III. Management

The planting time is before and after sprouting in late March, and the survival rate of 1-2-year-old seedlings is high. After planting, we should pour water thoroughly, strengthen the management of water and fertilizer, often loosen the soil and weed, pay attention to drainage in the rainy season, and pay attention to the prevention and control of diseases and insect pests from June to July. Pruning should be carried out during the growing period, and the dry height should be kept above 3m. Do not prune after falling leaves, otherwise it is easy to cause bleeding and affect the growth of trees.
