Ministry of Agriculture takes advantage of Law Enforcement Cooperation to strengthen Inland Fisheries Law Enforcement
Chongqing Business Daily yesterday, inland fishery administration, public security law enforcement cooperation and promoting the "convergence of the two laws" discussion and exchange meeting was held in our city's Yutong Hotel. During this period, the Fisheries Supervision and Administration Office of the Yangtze River Basin of the Ministry of Agriculture, together with the Yangtze River Shipping Public Security Bureau of the Ministry of Communications, signed the "Law Enforcement Cooperation Agreement" and jointly issued the "interim provisions on illegal and Criminal cases involving Fisheries in the Yangtze River."
The meeting stressed that fishery administration organs at all levels should take the initiative to strengthen communication and coordination with local public security and judicial departments, straighten out the linking mechanism of filing, investigation, transfer, prosecution, and trial of fishing-related cases, and promote the smooth convergence of fishery law enforcement and criminal justice, so as to safeguard ecological safety and production safety in water areas.
The meeting also discussed the institutional mechanisms and working norms for improving the convergence between fishery law enforcement and criminal justice (referred to as "convergence between the two laws"). By strengthening the cooperation between fishery administration and public security law enforcement, establishing and perfecting the system and mechanism of "convergence between the two laws", and giving full play to the overall joint efforts of administrative law enforcement organs and judicial organs, we can more effectively punish criminals involved in fishing.
