Barley rice is a kind of food that can remove dampness and cold. It can cook porridge with black rice, red beans, Tremella and so on. Few women like it, and some of them are specially used to lose weight, so it is planted more in our country, so how to grow barley rice?

1. Planting time: when will it be ready?

It can be from March to June every year, specifically from the first ten days of March to the middle of March, or from the end of March to the beginning of April, from the end of April to the beginning of May, no later than June at the latest, otherwise the yield of Coix will be affected.

2. Seed selection and soil preparation: which land is suitable for planting?

Choose some full and glossy grains to be used as seeds, or choose good varieties of seeds when you buy seeds. After the selection of seeds, there are two ways of soil preparation, one is water cultivation, that is, the field is first filled with water, then ploughed, and ploughed flat. One is the dry planting method of soil preparation, that is, digging soil, making ridges and ditches to make a good drainage and irrigation system. Both methods need to apply base fertilizer to ensure soil fertility.

3. Sowing method: how to sow?

(1) deal with the seeds: pack the seeds in a cloth bag, then soak them in lime water for one day, then take out the cloth bag and rinse it with clean water several times after one day, so as to improve the germination rate of the seeds, and then you can sow the seeds.

(2) sowing methods: there are two ways of sowing, namely, water planting method and dry planting method. Hydroponic planting is the same as transplanting rice seedlings, but the barley doesn't need to pour water into the field all the time. Just wait for the soil to dry before digging trenches to make ridges. The dry planting method is to sow seeds at regular intervals on the ridges that have been made before.

4. Field management: how to manage?

(1) Seedling replenishment: after emergence, check the growth situation at any time, if there are seedlings, you should replenish the seedlings in time.

(2) fertilization requirements: generally, when barley seedlings grow to 5-6 cm, weeding should be carried out once to be fertilized, and the second weeding should wait until 15-20 cm, and this time it should also be fertilized. When the seedlings grow to about 35 cm, that is, when they blossom and bear ears, they should be topdressing, generally applying farm manure or urea, and taking measures to prevent lodging.

(3) Water requirement: generally, there is more water during germination, but keep drought as far as possible in growing seedlings, and replenish water in time when panicle is set, so it is necessary to control the moisture in the field.

(4) pollination: artificial means are generally adopted to help Coix to pollinate and improve the panicle setting rate.

5. Timely harvest: when will the harvest be ready?

Barley generally matures in September, but there is a gap in the maturation time of each plant, even the same plant. Generally, 80% of the barley is discolored and hardened, basically it can be harvested, and the cut barley needs to be dried for three or four days before it can be threshed. After threshing, you have to bask for a few days and then peel and pack, and then the harvest is really over.

Generally speaking, barley is still very good seed, as long as select the seed, deal with the seed, sow into the soil, do a good job of water and fertilizer and so on.
