As a big rice country, China has a very strong strength and foundation. We all know that there is a division of early rice, medium rice and late rice, so do you know when late rice will be sown?

When will late rice be sown

Late rice is usually sown in mid-late June and harvested in the first and middle of October. The planting environment and temperature change in each region, and there are some differences between cultivation and harvest time.

II. Rice planting steps

1. Land preparation

Before planting rice, soil preparation is a necessary link. In the past, animal power and ploughing tools, mainly buffalo, were used to prepare the land, but now more machines are used to prepare the land.

2. Raising seedlings

Raising seedlings is the key to the initial growth of rice. Now special seedling centers use seedling boxes to make rice seedlings grow. Good rice seedlings are the key to the success of rice cultivation. When the seedlings grow about eight centimeters high, they can be planted. There are mainly two forms of transplanting rice seedlings: machine and artificial, which can be selected according to the scale and the shape of the land.

3. Weeding and pest control

In the process of seedling growth, weeding and insect control must be carried out. When weeds appear in the field, clean them up in time.

4. Fertilization

When the seedlings are high and grow the first rice stem, it is called the dividing stage, during which fertilizer is often needed to make the rice seedlings grow healthily and promote the fullness and quantity of spike rice in the future.

5. Irrigation and drainage

Irrigation and drainage is a relatively dependent link of rice, upland rice is a dry field, the process of irrigation and drainage is different, but generally need to strengthen water irrigation after transplanting, young panicle formation, and heading and flowering stage.

6. Drying and screening

The harvested rice needs to be dried. In the past, it was mostly dried in the front yard of the courtyard, which needed to be turned over from time to time to let the rice dry. Screening is to remove the grain and other impurities, using electric grain divider, windmill or manual shaking to divide the grain, using the wind to automatically screen out the full and heavy rice.
