How to plant lawn seeds

I. seed selection and sowing

It is suggested that the wear-resistant mixed grass of perennial ryegrass and purple fescue should be mixed at 1:1. Grass seeds are sown in autumn and germinate within weeks when the ground is warm and wet, and earlier than cold grass seeds in early spring.

Second, protect the seeds

After sowing, put a few branches on the ground to prevent damage from birds and cats. Once the grass begins to grow, it can be cut quite well when it grows to 4 centimeters high, which promotes tillering.

Third, avoid compression

The compacted grass will not grow very well, but the land can be ploughed properly to reduce the density of the soil and ventilate the soil. The fork tip opens the soil, allows the roots to breathe, and promotes lawn regeneration.

IV. Fertilizer and water management

Lawns usually need to be fertilized in spring and midsummer. You can also sprinkle a layer of special lawn fertilizer on the lawn before it rains. Water them in time in hot weather, otherwise they will become ugly.

Turfgrass contains many series of varieties, such as Kentucky bluegrass, Sijiqing, cold season and so on, and each lawn series contains hundreds of turf varieties.
