In May to June, the collected seeds are rubbed to remove the exocarp and cleaned to remove the plump ones. Mixed with wet sand, stored in wet sand, and moisture rat proof, winter to pay attention to insulation, keep ice can be. The best sowing time of Osmanthus fragrans seeds is from February to early April of the next year, and the seeds can be sown when the cracks are white.

2. Germination

In order to make the seeds germinate quickly and neatly, the sterilized seeds can be immersed in warm water of about 50℃~52℃ for 4 hours, covered with damp cloth or straw after being taken out, and placed at 18~24℃ for germination.

3, seedbed preparation

Choose soil layer deep, loose fertile, drainage good slightly acidic sandy loam is the most appropriate. Osmanthus seeds are generally seeded in a row on the seedbed, with a groove width of 12 cm and a groove depth of 3 cm; seeds after germination are sown every 6 to 8 cm in the groove. When sowing, the hilum should be placed laterally to avoid bending the radicle and young stem, affecting the growth of seedlings. After sowing, cover soil 1-2CM, and cover a small amount of straw or shade net. When the seeds germinate, they should be properly removed on cloudy days or in the evening. Keep seedbeds moist, reduce evaporation and prevent weeds from growing. Summer high temperature season, should be set up in time shade.

4. Transplantation

Osmanthus fragrans 1-year old seedlings 20~30 cm high, the next year early spring can be transplanted. One month after the seedlings emerged, they entered the vigorous growth period of seedlings. A thin, decomposed manure or nitrogenous fertilizer should be applied once a month. With the growth of seedlings, fertilizer concentration can be appropriately increased. After autumn, stop topdressing to prevent seedlings from growing and suffering from freezing injury.
