Yu Mei is a common flower in China, belonging to the family Papaveraceae, which inherits the beauty and toxicity of the family Papaveraceae, but opium poppy is prohibited in China, so many people do not know whether Yumei can grow it, but can it be planted?

The beauty of Yu can be planted and is suitable for live broadcast in the open field. Generally in February-March, choose a piece of sandy soil with sufficient fertility, sow the seeds evenly in the soil according to the spacing between the rows and plants around 30*30cm, then cover the thin soil and sprinkle some water. After the seedling comes out, it can be transplanted into a flowerpot. The specific planting techniques are as follows:

1. Planting time: usually in the early spring of every year, that is, February or March, when the soil thaws.

2. Site selection: Yumei likes places with sufficient light and good ventilation, cold-resistant, not resistant to moisture and heat, not suitable for planting on over-fertile soil, not suitable for continuous cropping, and not suitable for raising seedlings and planting in low-lying, humid, fertile and poor light places, otherwise they will grow poorly and are prone to diseases. The requirement of soil is not strict, but loose and fertile sandy loam is the best.

3. Potted plants: in January, Yumei potted plants filled most of the old pots of loose soil with a flowerpot with an inner diameter of 20 centimeters, flattened, sowed 20 to 30 seeds, covered the soil with invisible seeds, and soaked the pot with water after sowing.

4. Post-planting management technology:

The main results are as follows: (1) Interseedling: Yumei is usually cultivated as a biennial, when the seedlings have 5 or 6 leaves, the row spacing is generally 30 × 30 cm. The beauty of Yu is not resistant to transplant, so it is best to broadcast live in the garden.

(2) fertilization: Yumei usually apply dilute liquid fertilizer 2 or 3 times before flowering, but do not apply too much fertilizer, otherwise diseases and insect pests are easy to occur. Apply thin fertilizer twice before overwintering and once liquid fertilizer before flowering. Apply topdressing for the last time before flowering to make the flowers colorful and forceful.

(3) watering: Yumei seedlings should not be watered too much during the growing period, but should be kept moist. In general, it is not necessary to water the soil frequently, and the potted plant is watered every 3 to 5 days depending on the weather and pot soil conditions. About 60% of the maximum soil water capacity in the field is better for the development of Yu Mei. Less watering when overwintering, but more watering at the beginning of spring.

Generally speaking, Yu Meimei can be planted and can generally be broadcast live in the open field from February to March.
