The breeding method of cash cow

Money tree, also known as money tree, is a common ornamental plant in our country. It is deeply loved by flower friends because of its beautiful leaves. Many people like to keep a pot at home. What are the breeding methods of money tree?

First, sowing and reproduction

Sowing and propagation is suitable for mass propagation. Generally, after the fruit is ripe in autumn, the fruit is harvested, dried and shelled, and used to sow; in addition to autumn sowing, it can also be sowed in spring after wet sand stratification treatment.

Methods: Ridge sowing is generally used with a monopoly distance of 60-70cm. Because of the low emergence rate of seeds, a large amount of seeds are used, and the sowing amount is 30-40kg/ mu.

2. Cutting propagation

1. Cuttings selection

Choose the annual healthy leaves of the cash cow and cut off its petiole and a little stem as cuttings; you can also cut a section of the stem with a petiole; you can also cut a section of the stem, remove the leaves at the bottom of the stem, and leave 4 leaves at the top.

2. Cuttage

Some fine sand or 3 parts of peat soil, 1 part of perlite and 1 part of river sand were mixed to form nutrient soil, and then the ear strips were inserted into the substrate, the depth of which was generally 1 inch, 1 inch, 2, leaving only leaves outside the substrate and placed in a shaded place after spraying through water.

3. Maintenance after insertion

After insertion, put the flowerpot in the ambient temperature of 25-27 ℃ and spray the leaves 1-2 times a day to keep the basin soil moist and must not be too wet. After 30-40 days, you will find that the leaves really grow small roots, which basically means that the cutting is successful.

3. Ramet propagation

1. Ramet time

In April every year, when the temperature is above 18 ℃, the ramet survival rate is the highest.

2. De-potting and split

Pull out the sturdy cash cow with your hands and be careful not to damage the plant. After getting rid of the basin, clean up the soil at the root of the cash cow, and then slowly break off the ramet by hand or tool at the bottom of the stem.

3. Split planting

After ramet, smear the wound with plant ash or sulfur powder, and then plant it in the basin, do not bury it too deep, 2 cm. Note: the ramet with bud should be planted separately, bury it in the moist sand, wait for it to grow roots, and then move to the basin for planting.

4. Late maintenance

After the ramet is finished, put the flowerpot in a cool place and keep the temperature at 26 ℃, then watering, pay attention to the soil moisture, and spray some water on the leaves every day, which can improve the survival rate of the ramets.

Generally speaking, there are still many propagation methods of cash cow, including sowing, cutting and dividing plants, but cutting is more commonly used, as long as a section of ear is cut and inserted into the substrate.
