According to data released by a Chinese grain think-tank, China's soybean imports will reach 22 million tons in the fourth quarter of this year (October to December), up 18% from the same period last year, but lower than the 24.5 million tons imported in the third quarter. This means that China's import demand for soybeans is healthy. In the fourth quarter, China will mainly import soybeans from the United States.

According to a report released by an industry body, China's soybean imports will be stable at the previous year's level in 2015 to 16 (October to September). China imported 78.36 million tons of soybeans in 2014. Demand for soybean oil will help squeeze demand to stay strong in the coming months, the report said. Due to the shortage of soybean oil stocks, the average soybean crushing capacity will reach about 7 million tons per month. For comparison, Chinese crushers squeezed an average of 7 to 7.5 million tons of soybeans per month in the third quarter.
