Butterfly plum, also known as pansy, its petals have three colors, suitable for ornamental decoration. What are the breeding methods of butterfly plum?

1. Seed propagation

Choose loose and fertile sandy soil as planting soil and plant it in an open field seedbed or pot from August to September. The suitable temperature for germination of butterfly plum is 15-20 ℃. Generally, butterfly plum will emerge about 15 days after planting.

If the butterfly plum is sown in the open field, it is necessary to turn the planting land 20-30 cm deep, rake fine and level it, and make a flat bed. Cover with soil after sowing, shade after planting, and keep moist. After the emergence of butterfly plum seedlings gradually make the seedlings of butterfly plum exposed to the sun, but be careful not to let the strong direct sunlight. Butterfly plum should pay attention to timely watering and keep the soil moist. The seedlings of Prunus mume can not be in a wet soil environment for a long time, otherwise it is easy to grow poorly, or even waterlogged to death.

Potted sowing also uses fertile sandy loam. After sowing, the butterfly plum should be covered with soil, then watered once, and can be covered with glass or plastic film, and then put the butterfly plum flowerpot in a ventilated and shady place. After germination, the mulch can be removed, and then the flowerpot can be cultured in a sunny, ventilated and cool place. Butterfly plum can not be exposed to the sun, watering follows the principle of dry and wet. There are 1-2 true leaves time seedlings, butterfly plum in 3-4 true leaves can be put on the pot, if the butterfly plum is well managed, it can blossom in 1-2 months.

2. Cuttage propagation

Cut a branch 3-4 cm long on the adult butterfly plum, with the top best, leaving 4-5 leaves. After the cuttings are selected, let the cut dry for several days, form a film and wait for the cuttings.

The selected cuttings were soaked in 0.01% indolebutyric acid solution for 2 seconds, and then inserted into the prepared substrate. After cutting, butterfly plum was placed in a semi-shaded place and kept at room temperature for 13-18 ℃. It can take root 14-21 days after cutting, and can be potted when the root length is 3-4 cm.

The breeding method of butterfly plum is relatively simple, mainly to do a good job of maintenance in the later stage to make the plant survive.
