Chili is a common ingredient in daily cooking, but also can be eaten directly as a dish. People in Sichuan, Chongqing and Hunan especially like chili. What is the cultivation technology of plastic film pepper?

I. Basic introduction of pepper

Capsicum is an annual or finite perennial plant of the genus Capsicum, Solanaceae. The plant is 40-80 cm high and the flowering period is 5-11 months.

Chili is native to Central Latin America and the country of origin is Mexico. In China, it is mainly distributed in Sichuan, Guizhou, Hunan, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Henan (Xichuan County), Jize County (Jize County) in Hebei Province and Tuoketuo County in Inner Mongolia.

Pepper early growth for germination period, germination after sowing generally 5-8 days or so unearthed, 15 days or so the first true leaf appears, to bud revealed for the seedling stage.

The first flower spike to the door pepper sits mainly for the flowering period. The fruiting period is from fruiting to seedling pulling. The optimum temperature for peppers is between 15 and 34 degrees. The suitable temperature for seed germination is 25-30 ℃, germination takes 5-7 days, and seeds do not germinate below 15 ℃ or above 35 ℃.

Chili peppers are strict about moisture conditions, and they are neither drought nor waterlogging tolerant. I prefer dry air conditions.

II. Cultivation techniques of plastic film pepper

1. Select the appropriate variety, time and temperature for seedling.

Variety: pepper series is the main one;

Sowing time: generally sowing seedlings in late December, planting in late April of the next year, until late October, the growth period of up to 10 months;

Suitable temperature: After sowing, the seedbed temperature should be kept at 25-30℃ during the day and 18-20℃ at night. When the seedlings are ready, the temperature should be reduced to 20-25℃ during the day and 15-18℃ at night.

2. After successful seedling raising, seedling division shall be carried out. After seedling division is completed, small arch shed shall be covered in time, and plastic film shall be covered about 7 days before planting.

Sub-seedlings: generally in the middle of March, the day before the sub-seedlings should be properly watered on the seedbed, so as to reduce the root injury when the seedlings are raised, the seedling spacing should be 8-10cm square, two plants per hole, and the large and small seedlings should be separated at the same time. If the temperature is low at night, cover the grass mat.

3, after the film is completed, according to a certain density for planting, and then reasonable fertilization and watering.

Density: digging holes according to row spacing of 40cm and plant spacing of 33cm, and triangular seedling determination method is the most suitable, 4000 holes and 8000 plants per mu. If the water and fertilizer conditions are poor, the planting density can be increased appropriately;

Watering: small water frequently irrigation, avoid flood irrigation, rain too much to timely drainage;

Fertilization: When the pepper grows to about 3cm, it is combined with watering, and the fertilizer is applied again, and the urea can be 15- 20kg per mu, and the potassium fertilizer is 10kg.
