Honeysuckle has a unique fragrance and medicinal value, has been loved by many people, honeysuckle nectar is also very sweet. Honeysuckle striping propagation method is the most common, so what is the striping propagation method? What other breeding methods are there?

1. Striping breeding method

Striping propagation is more appropriate when the plant is dormant in autumn and winter, or when it germinates in early spring. Branches should choose honeysuckle which has been growing for 3 ~ 4 years as the mother plant, and then choose annual branches, preferably those with strong growth and high yield, which is beneficial to the later growth.

Then the branch is bent and buried in the soil, and the part buried in the soil is carved into a wound, and the tip of the branch is exposed to the ground. Cover the part buried in the soil with 10 to 15 centimeters of fine fertile soil, then fix the branches, and the rear service is watered and fertilized diligently. In the next year, you will find that the branches pressed in the soil, as well as detached from the main body and take root, can be transplanted at this time.

2. Separate plant breeding method

Ramet is to separate the rhizome of the mother plant of Flos Lonicerae. This method requires digging up the mother plant when the honeysuckle hibernates in winter. Then the roots and aboveground roots are pruned properly, in order to avoid excessive pruning and death of the mother plant, so reasonable and appropriate pruning is needed.

After pruning, you start digging holes for ramet, and you can plant 1-2 plants in each cave. After the second year, these ramets will be able to appear buds. However, because the mother plant has been pruned, the nutrients will not keep up with it, and it may blossom rarely or not that year. This method of reproduction is generally rarely used.

III. Seed propagation

Maybe many people have never seen the seeds of honeysuckle. After Frosts Descent every year, the fruit of honeysuckle will mature. Because the fruit of honeysuckle is collected in time, then washed and rubbed in water, the peel and impurities are removed and the seeds are left, dried and preserved. The seeds will be ready for sowing next spring.

In the coming spring, take out the seeds of honeysuckle, soak them in 40 ℃ warm water for 24 hours, then put them on the wet sand layer to promote germination. When half of the seeds spit out white, the seeds can be selected for sowing. Friends who do not know how to reproduce honeysuckle, this method can be said to be the simplest, and suitable for large areas of reproduction.

IV. Cutting propagation method

The propagation of honeysuckle is the most common by cutting, which can be carried out in spring, summer and autumn. When choosing branches, it is best to choose to have been born.

Healthy and sturdy branches that have grown for 1 or 2 years, cut them into cuttings of about 30 centimeters, and then remove the leaves at the bottom, leaving only 2 or 4 leaves on top.

Finally, the lower end is cut into a slope at an angle of 45 °to help the branches to absorb water and nutrients well after cutting. Before cutting, the lower end of the branch of honeysuckle needs to be dipped in 500ppm indolebutyric acid (1ba) solution. It only takes 5 to 10 seconds. After drying, the cuttings can take root and sprout after a month.

There are many breeding methods of honeysuckle, which can be selected according to the local climate and actual conditions.
