Beijing Zaoyu peach is a small deciduous tree with white and yellow flesh, many varieties of peach, hairy skin, narrow oval to lanceolate leaves, 15 cm long and 4 cm wide, apex growing and thin tip, margin denticulate, dark green glossy, leaf base with nectaries; bark dark gray, cracks with age. Flowers solitary, from light to deep pink or red, sometimes white, with short stalks, 4 cm in diameter, flowering in early spring; drupe subglobose, hairy on the surface, fleshy edible, orange-yellow reddish in diameter, 7.5 cm in diameter, with deeply pitted and grooved kernels containing white seeds. The flesh is white, light green-white, yellow, orange-yellow or red, succulent and fragrant, sweet or sour; the nucleus is large, enucleated or sticky, oval or nearly round, flattened on both sides, top acuminate, with longitudinal, horizontal grooves and holes on the surface; seeds taste bitter, thin and sweet.
