Cedar is an evergreen tree that blooms every October-November and ripens the next year. It is cultivated all over the world and is propagated mostly by sowing and cutting. How do you plant your seeds? Let's find out together.

How do cedar seeds grow?

1. seed selection

Select high-quality, full-grain cedar seeds and sow them in March-May and October-November of each year. Cedar is not strict with soil requirements, can be planted in sandy soil, yellow mud, clay, sand content of the soil does not matter. But the seedlings should be planted in high-quality fields with fluffy, breathable soil, rich organic matter, gentle terrain and fast drainage.

2. soil preparation and seed soaking

Soak the seeds in warm water for 96 hours before sowing. At the same time, apply sufficient agricultural fertilizer to the planting land before planting. Sprinkle 5~6T cow manure and pig manure per mu. After fertilization, plough deeply once and rake once. In this way, the soil and nutrients will be fully and evenly mixed together.

3. sowing

The seeds that have completed germination can be sown directly. When sowing, the seeds should be big and upward, and the depth of sowing should be kept at about 2 cm. After planting, plastic film or moisture such as straw can be laid to improve germination rate. After covering soil, water once, about 5-10 days.

After that, do a good job in pest control, water and fertilizer application and other work. 30kg quick-acting fertilizer should be applied per mu in its growing season, and the water content should be determined according to weather conditions.
