Bananas can be propagated by sucking buds, tubers, ramets and tissue culture. Among them, ramet is the method used in conventional propagation, and large-scale planting seedling production adopts tissue culture and rapid propagation technology. The following is a brief introduction to the three commonly used methods of reproduction.

1. Bud suction ramet propagation method

The flag leaf buds with a height of more than 40 cm were used for ramet propagation from March to April in spring. When ramet, use a special long-handle shovel to cut between the sucking bud and the mother plant, the sucking bud had better take the small bulb, and the incision should be smeared or dried with plant ash first. The survival rate of planting is high and the plant grows rapidly.

two。 Underground stem cutting and propagation method

Dig out the underground stem of the mother plant, cut it into seven or eight pieces with a knife, and cut the small one into two pieces, each with 1-2 buds, each weighing about 120 grams. After the incision is coated with plant ash, cool and dry, according to the specification of 15 cm row spacing, the bud eyes are facing up and planted on the nursery ground. The best cutting time is from November to December, and most of them can sprout from January to February of the following year. When the seedlings are 40-50 cm high in May-June, they can blossom and bear fruit at the same time as the sucking buds planted at the same time.

3.。 Tissue culture

The cultivation of disease-free seedlings and a large number of seedlings have been widely used in production. The fruit of the plant is the same as the normal banana, using it can not only obtain a large number of test-tube plantlets in a short period of time, but also remove the virus such as mosaic disease, which is beneficial to increase the yield.

After the completion of banana breeding, it is best to plant in spring, either in ditches or in pits and ponds.
