How to grow towel gourd

Towel gourd, also known as towel gourd, gets its name because it looks like the hand of the Tathagata Buddha. It has high application value. Besides being edible, it can also be used as medicinal materials, so many areas are growing towel gourd. How to grow towel gourd?

1. Select land and cultivated land

Towel gourd does not have high requirements for soil, so it is suitable to grow in relatively warm areas, so it can be planted in sandy soil with sufficient light, fertile soil, good permeability, moderate drainage and water storage capacity, or in neutral soil with weak soil viscosity. After selecting the land, turn the soil deeply and sprinkle it with farm manure, and then set up a small ditch every 1.5 meters in the field to facilitate drainage and irrigation in the later stage.

2. Sowing and raising seedlings

(1) seed selection and seed treatment: select some healthy and full seeds, then soak the seeds in warm water for about 1 hour, then remove the seeds and mix them with a small amount of medicament, then wash and drain the water with clean water, and then sow the seeds.

(2) Hole sowing: hole sowing was carried out in the field according to the distance of 40-50cm per row and 30-40cm per plant, and then covered with soil after sowing.

(3) transplanting: first, the seedlings of towel gourd are cultivated on the seedbed, and then they can be transplanted around May, and the distance between transplanting is the same as that of hole sowing. 3. Field management

(1) Fertilizer requirements: in the growth to mature stage of towel gourd, it is generally necessary to apply fertilizer for about 3 times, and many crops need to be fertilized after planting, but towel gourd cannot be fertilized in this period, otherwise it will cause the seedlings of towel gourd to wither, so it only needs to be watered. When the plant enters the rapid growth period, urea can be applied once. In the flowering stage of bergamot, a small amount of foliar fertilizer can be sprayed and a little farm rotten fertilizer can be applied to promote flowers and protect fruit. In the fruit setting period, appropriate amount of boron fertilizer can be sprayed to promote the growth and ripening of towel gourd.

(2) scaffolding: when the towel gourd grows to 40 centimeters long, we need to build it, although it can crawl and grow on the ground directly, but after scaffolding, it can not only improve the yield and quality of towel gourd, but also avoid a lot of diseases and insect pests.
