The emergence of seedless watermelon has solved the trouble of spitting seeds from eating watermelon, and it is also widely cultivated in our country. Let's introduce the high-yield cultivation techniques of seedless watermelon.

Cultivation techniques of seedless watermelon

1. Seed selection and budding

The full, robust and pest-free seeds were dried for 2-3 days. The seeds were soaked in 55-60 ℃ warm water (two boiled and one cool) and stirred continuously. When the water temperature dropped to room temperature, warm water had both seed soaking and sterilization. Remove and scrub the soaked seeds and wash off the mucus on the surface of the seeds so that the seeds do not slip. Generally after 24 hours most of the germination, do not germinate the basic loss of vitality, can be abandoned.

two。 Sowing seeds

To choose to sow on a sunny morning, stick a small hole 0.5-1 cm deep in the center of each nutrition bowl, put the germinated seed bud down into the hole, then cover 1 cm thick sifted fine soil, cover the surface of the seedling bed with a plastic film after sowing, and buckle the small arch shed. The seedbed should be prepared and fertilized before sowing, and the bottom water should be watered 1-2 days before sowing. And buckle the small arch shed to heat up.

3. Colonization

Seedless watermelon should be planted when the seedling age is about 30 days and the seedlings have 2-3 true leaves. Choose no wind and sunny day planting, 500-700 plants per mu, planting with watering. The implementation of three-vine pruning, leaving the third female flower of the main vine to set fruit is the best to avoid low-node position.

4. Field management

Seedless watermelon grows slowly at seedling stage, so early management should promote early development, control fertilizer and water after vine extension, prevent overgrowth, create conditions for fruit setting, and choose better nodes for artificial pollination. In addition, seedless watermelons take about 35-40 days from flowering to fruit ripening. Moderately ripe fruits are good in color, juicy, sweet and refreshing, and should be picked in time.
