The black pine is an evergreen Qiaobu with grayish black bark, dark green needles and a broad conical or umbrella-shaped crown. It can not only be planted in the road courtyard for greening, but also can be watched by small potted plants. What are the breeding methods of black pine?

1. Propagation methods of Pinus elliottii

1. To sow and reproduce:

① collects seeds: after harvesting, the ripe fruit of black pine should be dried in a ventilated place, then the outer pericarp is rubbed and threshed and stored in sand.

② sowing site selection: black pine sowing seedlings need to choose soft and ventilated soil, well-drained soil for sowing, first disinfect the land with ferrous sulfate, then fertilize the selected land, and deep ploughing once.

③ seed treatment: before sowing, soak the black pine seeds with potassium permanganate for about 2 hours, then soak them in warm water until the water temperature becomes normal temperature; wait until the next day to fish out and spread out in a ventilated place to dry, the seeds need to be watered once a day, and the seeds can be sown in a week. Seeds can be mixed with the soil and then planted, so that its emergence rate will be very high, and a year's black pine seedlings can grow to a height of about 15 centimeters.

two。 Cutting propagation:

① selects branches: fresh annual branches are selected before cutting, and young branches can also be selected on older trees.

② branch treatment: the selected branches were soaked in the solution of indolebutyric acid (IBA) for 12 hours. After soaking, the cutting emergence rate was very high, and it was easy to survive.

II. Maintenance of black pine

1. Black pine is a kind of cold-resistant and drought-tolerant plant, which can be maintained in the courtyard or balcony all the year round. Sufficient sunshine and ventilation can make the black pine grow and develop well. Small black pine bonsai is not easy to keep warm and sunscreen, so pay attention to anti-freezing in winter and avoid sun exposure in summer.

2. Black pine is resistant to drought and waterlogging, watering should be appropriate, follow the principle of seeing dry and wet, the color of basin soil is slightly white, or when touching the soil with hands and feeling that the soil has no moisture, it can be watered through. But do not accumulate water, summer high temperature can often spray water to the leaves.

3. Black pine is resistant to barren. During its growth period, it can be properly applied 1-2 times of rotten thin pancake fertilizer and water.

4. In order to maintain its beautiful and quaint tree shape, black pine bonsai should be pruned properly, mainly to pick buds during the growing period, 3 to 4 evenly every year. When the new buds elongate but have not yet produced needles, about 1 thumb and 2 of each terminal bud can be removed. If there is no need for bonsai to grow branches, all the terminal buds can be removed. The branches that affect the appearance of the tree can be pruned during the dormant period.

5. Black pine can turn the basin once in 3-5 years, generally in February-March. When turning the pot, it is best to keep the basin soil intact and avoid damaging the root system. When changing the soil, remember to remove half of the old soil and add new soil. When changing the pot, if the original plant is still growing, you can change a larger flowerpot appropriately. If it is an old pile, it does not need to be replaced. When changing the basin, take advantage of the opportunity to trim the old root, diseased root, residual root, rotten root, etc., disinfect and kill insects, dry the wound and then put it back on the basin.

6. The most common diseases of black pine bonsai are leaf rust, deciduous disease, pine tumor disease and twig disease, such as pine needle rust and pine tumor disease, which can be sprayed with 65% wettable thiram and 0.5 stone sulfur mixture for deciduous disease. Insect pests such as aphids, scale insects and red spiders can be sprayed with insecticides.

Black pine is easy to survive and easy to grow, and it is generally planted in batches mainly by sexual reproduction.
