Hongmei apricot is produced in Pengyang County, Guyuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous region. It is unique to the local area and is a national geographical indication product of China.

2. Pengyang Hongmei apricot

Pengyang County has a typical temperate semi-arid continental monsoon climate with an annual average temperature of 7.4-8.5 ℃, a frost-free period of 140-170 days and a precipitation of 350-550mm. Pengyang County is divided into three natural types: the loess hilly region in the north, the residual plateau in the central river valley and the stony mountain area in the southwest, with an elevation of 1248-2418 meters, which is suitable for planting red plum apricot.
