Last Updated: 2024/11/05, The suitable annual growth temperature of avocado is 20-25 ℃. The general cold-resistant varieties can withstand the low temperature of-6 ℃, while the varieties with low cold resistance will dry up when the low temperature is 0 ℃, which requires annual rainfall of more than 1000 mm. Avocado trees, with shallow roots and fragile branches, cannot withstand strong winds, which can lead to reduced production. There is a small amount of cultivation in Guangdong, Fujian, Taiwan, Yunnan and other areas of China. In northern China, it is not suitable for planting.

Planting environment of avocado

1. Temperature: the most suitable growth temperature is 25: 30 ℃. When the temperature exceeds 44 ℃, the leaves are easy to burn, and the high temperature in the young fruit stage will lead to fruit drop. Generally speaking, the cold-resistant ability of different strains is Mexican > Guatemalan > West Indian. Generally speaking, Guatemala-2 ℃ trees will suffer frost injury, and late-ripening varieties such as Haas are easy to fall off when they encounter low temperature and frost before picking.

2. Light: it is more shady and not resistant to intense sun exposure, but it needs certain light conditions after hanging fruit to help form flowers and expand fruits.

3. Moisture: avocados can grow normally in areas where the annual rainfall is above 1000mm and where the rainy season is evenly distributed.

4. Soil: it is not suitable to grow in the areas where the soil salinity is too high, the soil is poor and the water level is low. This environment will cause root rot, the root oxygen demand is higher, and the soil oxygen content needs to reach more than 17% of the total soil air volume. The pH value should be between 5 and 7.
