How to raise mulberry in winter
Fusang is a famous flower in China, which is widely cultivated in South China. The flowering period is long, almost all the year round, with large and colorful flowers and a large number of flowers. So, how to raise Fusang in winter?
1. Keep temperature
The suitable dormancy temperature of Fusang in winter is 5 ℃ ~ 15 ℃. If the room temperature is higher than 15 ℃, the plant will not be fully dormant, which is bound to affect the flowering in the coming year, while less than 5 ℃, it is easy to suffer frost injury. In addition, pay attention to the temperature of the water when watering, the difference between the water temperature and the air temperature is too big (more than 5 ℃) is easy to damage the root system, so watering flowers with water had better be able to dry for a day, wait until the water temperature is close to the indoor temperature before using.
2. Appropriate amount of fertilizer
Potted mulberry plants like loose, fertile, well-drained slightly acidic soil, but the winter temperature is low, the plant demand for fertilizer is reduced accordingly, so fertilizer should be controlled from October. You can sprinkle a thin layer of dry fertilizer on the surface of the basin soil, such as coarse cake powder, sauce residue powder and so on. It is necessary to reduce the amount of nitrogen fertilizer, avoid excessive growth of branches and leaves, and then affect physiological dormancy. If the leaves are yellowed, the concentration can be 0. 3% ferrous sulfate solution to improve soil physical and chemical properties.
3. Control watering
Fusang in the indoor winter, the basin soil should be dry and avoid dampness, so it is necessary to control watering to keep the basin soil slightly moist. Generally every 5 to 10 days watering, the amount of water should not be too much, so as not to cause root rot in the low-temperature and high-humidity soil environment. The northern winter climate is dry, the leaf color is often yellowish, the leaf edge is dry and so on, so we should pay attention to improve the indoor air humidity. Spraying and washing branches and leaves or covering plastic film can be used to increase the air humidity around the plant so as to create suitable humidity conditions for its growth.
4. Reasonable pruning
Pruning can adjust the tree shape, form a reasonable tree structure, control unnecessary vegetative growth, and promote tissue enrichment, so at least one re-cutting should be carried out from half a month after entering the house to the following spring. Generally, the branches are left about 10 cm, and the rest of the branches are truncated. After germination, two lateral branches are left on each branch, and the rest of the twigs are cut off. For the older plants, extremely heavy truncation can be carried out, that is, only 2 ~ 3 buds are retained at the base of each lateral branch, and all the upper parts are cut off. Attention should be paid to the internal and external orientation of buds during pruning in order to control the growth direction of branches in the future.
In addition, after entering the room in winter, if the indoor ventilation is poor, the light is insufficient, and it is vulnerable to aphids and shell insects, attention should be paid to improving the ventilation and light transmission conditions of the indoor environment, combined with drug control. When it is found that there are a small amount of scale insects on the plant, it can be gently brushed off with a brush.
