The flowers of husband and wife Begonia are quite unique. Two flowers bloom on one branch, the single one is female, and the double one is male. So people call it the husband and wife begonia, so, how to raise the husband and wife begonia?

1. Soil

It is suitable to choose sandy loam with fertile and loose and good drainage.

2. Temperature

The suitable growth temperature for husband and wife is about 16 ℃-25 ℃, no less than 10 ℃ in winter and no more than 28 ℃ in summer, and prefer the environment with large temperature difference between day and night.

3. Lighting

Give sufficient light, but use sunshade net in summer to avoid long-term exposure and ensure good ventilation, otherwise it is easy to cause poor plant growth.

4. Moisture

In order to keep the basin soil moist, it is necessary to spray water to the leaves in time in dry weather to improve the air humidity and promote the healthy growth of plants. During the growing period, the air humidity should be controlled at about 60% and 80%. At the same time, timely drainage, avoid stagnant water and rain, otherwise it is easy to cause rotten roots. In winter, the basin soil should be slightly dry, and fresh water can be sprayed to the leaves once a week.

5. Fertilizer

During the growth period, thin cake fertilizer and water can be applied every 10 days, and some phosphate fertilizer can be applied in the bud stage. Pay attention to avoid splashing fertilizer on the leaves when fertilizing; there is no need to apply fertilizer during flowering and winter and summer seasons.

6. Pruning

Turn the basin to change the soil and prune every spring, cutting off weak branches, overlapping branches, residual roots and so on. The overgrown plants that have flowered for 2-3 years need to be truncated, leaving only about 6-10 cm of the stem to promote the germination of new branches.
