At the recently concluded Fourth China Shanxi Agricultural Expo, electric agricultural machinery has become one of the most eye-catching exhibits. Electric tractors, electric micro-tillers, electric lawn mowers and other electric agricultural machinery not only have different functions, pleasant shapes, but also competitive prices, attracting many spectators to stop and visit and consult.

"This is the first large-scale exhibition of electric agricultural machinery in the Agricultural Expo, accounting for almost half of the agricultural machinery exhibition area." Xu Jingchun, assistant general manager of Shanxi Zhuoli Group, said that in just a few days of exhibition, the company sold nearly 500 electric agricultural machinery, and many cooperatives and farmers expressed their intention to purchase.

In recent years, with the gradual improvement of environmental protection standards and the aging of rural labor force, electric agricultural machinery has been welcomed by farmers because of its advantages of cleanliness, economy and simple operation, and has become the "new favorite" of the agricultural machinery market.

Shanxi Taigu County farmer Guo Sanmin told reporters, electric agricultural machinery labor saving, simple operation. Today, 89% of farmers in the village use electric agricultural machinery for farming and medicine.

"It's cheaper to use electric than diesel." Guo Sanmin said,"For example, a tricycle transported in the field consumes only 7 kWh of electricity for every 100 kilometers traveled by an electric vehicle, which costs more than three yuan, while a diesel vehicle costs dozens of yuan for 100 kilometers."

Xu Jingchun told reporters that agricultural machinery from "drinking oil" to charging, is the choice of many agricultural machinery enterprises at present, one of the important reasons behind is the improvement of agricultural machinery emission standards. The China Agricultural Machinery Industry Association announced that from October this year, the domestic agricultural diesel engine emission standard will be upgraded from "National II" to "National III"; from April next year, agricultural machinery host manufacturers will no longer be able to produce and sell complete machines equipped with "National II" engines. The upgrading of emission standards forces agricultural machinery enterprises to transform to green.

Zhang Yufeng, director of Agricultural Machinery Extension Station of Agricultural Machinery Bureau of Shanxi Province, said that green agriculture is advocated all over the world at present, including environmental protection and greening of agricultural power, while greening of agricultural power mainly refers to electrification at the present stage. "This is not only the trend of the world, but also the next development trend of Chinese agricultural machinery."

Zhang Yufeng pointed out that most of the electric agricultural machinery on the market at present is some small agricultural machinery, China's electric high-horsepower agricultural machinery development is still in its infancy, if the battery and motor technology bottlenecks can be broken through as soon as possible, China's agricultural machinery green process will be expected to take the lead in the world.
