Melon management method

Melon is a common kind of melon in life, which is deeply loved by people because of its sweet juice and high nutritional value. now it is being planted in many areas, so what is the method of melon management?

1. Pruning and setting up vines: muskmelons are mostly planted with single vines. Generally, the growing plants can remove the lateral branches above the cotyledon nodes, leaving only 3-4 lateral vines in the fruit-setting nodes. If the growth is weak, you can retain 5-6 lateral vines above the cotyledon node, remove the remaining lateral vines, and then leave the lateral vines to the fruiting node, leaving a few to see the growth of the plant to determine. When the reserved basal side vine grows 2-3 leaves, pinch off the head.

2. Temperature management: the temperature of muskmelon in germination stage should be controlled at 25-35 degrees; the daily temperature of muskmelon in seedling stage should be controlled at 30 degrees and the night temperature should be controlled at 18-20 degrees; for muskmelons in vine stage, the temperature should be controlled at 25-30 degrees and light should be given for more than 12 hours a day. During the fruiting period, the temperature was controlled at 27-30 degrees, and the lowest temperature at night was controlled at 10-12 ℃, so as to increase the sugar accumulation of the fruit.

3. Pollination: from 8 to 10:00 in the morning, high yield agent 2 was mixed with 400g water for hormone treatment or artificial pollination.

4. Heart picking: melon heart picking is usually picked between 10-15 leaves. When picking, if the young fruit is relatively large, you can choose 1-2 regular melons, and you can also pick the heart in the first 2-3 leaves of melon seeds and vine melons, so as to increase the nutritional area near the fruit and improve the quality of the fruit.

5. Water and fertilizer management: muskmelons do not have high requirements for water and fertilizer. Generally, water is watered slowly 5-7 days after slow seedling. The amount of water is determined according to the soil condition and the growth of melon seedlings. Generally, watering is not needed in flowering and fruit setting period. If you apply fertilizer, look at the growth of the plant. If the growth of melon seedlings is weak, apply 5 kg of urea per mu. During the fruit-setting period, some nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer can be applied per mu, and 30-35 kg of potassium sulfate compound fertilizer can be applied. In addition, potassium dihydrogen phosphate foliar fertilizer can be sprayed every ten days or so to improve the quality of melon.
