Mango tree is an evergreen tree, the fruit of mango tree is often eaten mango, mango contains a lot of vitamins, carotene, as well as iron, calcium and other mineral elements. So how many years can mango saplings bear fruit?

First, the growth requirements of mango trees

1. Moisture

Mango has strong drought tolerance, but it is not resistant to waterlogging. It can be planted in places with annual rainfall of more than 700mm. Sufficient water will make the vegetative growth of mango too prosperous, which is not conducive to flowering and fruiting, and will aggravate the breeding and harm of diseases and insect pests, but if the soil is too dry, it will cause flowers and fruits to fall.

2. Temperature

Mango likes high temperature and is not resistant to cold, and the low temperature weather of continuous drizzle is avoided during flowering. The effective temperature for mango growth is 1535 ℃, and the optimum temperature for mango growth is 2427 ℃. It can only be pollinated and fertilized normally when flowering is above 20 ℃, but when it is below 20 ℃, the anther does not crack and the pollen does not germinate, which affects the fruit.

3. Soil

The requirement of soil texture is not very strict, except for the extremely barren saline-alkali soil, all types of soil from alluvial soil to latosol can be planted. Because mango is a kind of deep-rooted fruit tree, it is required to be planted on land with deep soil layer, good drainage and low groundwater level.

4. Lighting

Mango likes temperature and light, sufficient sunlight is very beneficial to the growth and fruiting of mango, the sun is strong during flowering, the weather is warm, the relative humidity is low, it is conducive to pollination and fertilization, high seed setting rate, bright fruit color, strong flavor and storage resistance. The orchard in the north direction has low yield and is prone to diseases and insect pests because of the weak light.

Second, how many years can mango seedlings bear fruit?

The grafted mango seedlings can bear fruit in 4-7 years and 3 years at the earliest. If it is to sow and propagate mango seedlings, the result will take much longer and may not bear fruit for 10 years.

During the growth of mango trees, we should also pay attention to the prevention and control of diseases and insect pests. The main pests in the growth process of mango trees are Spodoptera litura, white moth wax cicada, longicorn beetles, fruit flies and so on, in which Spodoptera litura mainly harms the tender shoots and inflorescences of mango trees. in fact, when the damage is greater, it will make it difficult for mango to produce fruit effectively.

It can be controlled by spraying corresponding concentration of chlorpyrifos EC and other insecticides.
