Sesame is the seed of flax, the plant is generally 60-150 cm high, is one of the main oil crops in China, its seed oil content is as high as 55%.

Sesame seeds can be divided into black and white, black sesame is called black sesame, white sesame is called white sesame.

Originally from the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau of China, sesame is a temperature-loving plant, which is mainly distributed between 40 °N and 40 °S.
