China will speed up the construction of national demonstration areas

In recent years, the mode of agricultural modernization in our country is becoming more and more abundant. In the next step, China will focus on innovation, transformation and guidance to speed up the construction of national modern agricultural demonstration areas and promote the development of modern agriculture.

This is what the reporter learned from the recent seminar on the construction of national modern agricultural demonstration zones held in Fuzhou. It is understood that from 2010 to 2015, the No. 1 document of the Central Committee put forward clear requirements for the construction of modern agricultural demonstration zones, and the Ministry of Agriculture successively identified three batches of 283 demonstration zones. At present, the 283 demonstration areas account for 40 percent of the country's grain production, 53 percent of high-standard farmland, and 75 percent of the comprehensive mechanization of crop cultivation and harvest, all of which are much higher than the national average.

According to the monitoring of the Ministry of Agriculture, by the end of 2014, 44 of the first two batches of 153 national modern agricultural demonstration zones had taken the lead in entering the stage of basically realizing agricultural modernization. The guidance for the construction of demonstration areas jointly issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance and the CBRC clearly points out that more than half of the demonstration areas will enter the stage of basically realizing agricultural modernization by 2020.

Yu Xinrong, vice minister of agriculture, said at the seminar that it is necessary to promote the construction of national modern agricultural demonstration zones around innovation, transformation, and guidance in the future. Innovate the concept, power and support of development, plan development with the concept of industrialization and informatization, promote agriculture with the concept of integrated development, lead construction with green concept, and promote policy creation in depth to deepen reform, scientific and technological innovation, and human capital.

At the same time, we will speed up the promotion of the "four transformations and upgrading" of the mode of production, the mode of utilization of resources, the mode of operation and the industrial structure. We will promote the completion of infrastructure, mechanization of equipment, and integration of science and technology; do a good job in tackling non-point source pollution and develop circular agriculture; improve the land contract management system, speed up the cultivation of new types of agricultural operators, and vigorously develop industries with advantages and characteristics. We will promote the integrated development of primary, secondary and tertiary industries. We will strengthen goal guidance, model guidance and sharing guidance, and demonstrate to accelerate the development of agricultural modernization.
